Sensor Overview: Garbage Bag

Do you need a sensor that isn't available in the catalog?

Binsack Reedtechnik develops and manufactures sensor solutions for level, flow, and position. We support you every step of the way—from technical consultation through prototype development and testing to series production in Germany.
Typical cases:
- insufficient installation space
- special switching point
- critical medium
- special material requirements
- custom connection type
- mass production requirements with consistent quality

Why do companies work with Binsack?

Binsack Reedtechnik is a family-owned manufacturer of reed sensors and custom sensor solutions.

Our foundation:

- family-run since 1993
- over 17.9 million sensors in use worldwide
- development and manufacturing in Germany
- ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified
- prototyping, testing, and series production—all from a single source
- in-house manufacturing with short coordination channels
The benefits for you:

You won't receive a generic, off-the-shelf component, but rather a technically tailored solution for your application.

This reduces:
- Voting effort
- Integration risks
- Change loops
- Installation problems
- Uncertainty before the start of production

When standard sensors are not sufficient

A standard sensor is often the right solution if the installation conditions, medium, temperature, switching point, and connection type match the specifications in the data sheet.

However, in many projects, this is not the case.

This leads to some common problems:

- The sensor does not fit properly into the assembly mechanically.
- The switching point is not in the correct position.
- The material is not suitable for this medium.
- The connection does not fit the existing structure.
- Design, development, and procurement teams waste time on follow-up questions and compromises.

Binsack will conduct a technical review of your application and, if necessary, develop a suitable design.

Services for Design Engineers, Developers, and Purchasing Professionals

For Design Engineers
You need sensors that fit mechanically into your assembly.

We provide support in the following areas:
· Installation space
· Mounting orientation
· Fastening
· Connection concept
· Material selection
· Design integration

Goal: fewer design compromises and better fit in the product.
For Developers
You need a solution that works technically, can be tested, and can be validated before mass production begins.

We provide support in the following areas:
· technical design
· Prototyping
· Functional tests
· Adjustments before approval
· Evaluation of feedback from installation trials

Objective: a reliable solution before production begins.
For Buyers
You need a manufacturer that not only delivers but also ensures quality, testing, and production readiness.

We provide support in the following areas:
· Technical coordination
· Predictable mass production
· Quick decision-making processes
· Tested quality from German manufacturing

Goal: reduced procurement risk and a reliable solution for recurring needs.

Sensors as a protective feature

Level, flow, and position monitoring are often critical to safety or process operations.

A properly designed sensor solution can help detect critical conditions early on, for example:
· Dry running
· Malfunctions
· Shutdown
· Rework
· Unnecessary maintenance
· Damage to pumps, systems, or equipment

That is why sensors should not be selected only at the end of the design process.
The sooner the installation space, medium, switching point, and connection are determined, the lower the risk of having to make changes later on.

Here's How a Project Works

From technical inquiries to mass production
1. Clarify requirements
We will discuss the medium, installation conditions, environmental conditions, quantities, and technical requirements.
2. Design a sensor
Based on this, we develop a proposal for a suitable sensor solution and produce prototypes as needed.
3. Test and approve the design
If needed, we can provide samples for you to test in your application. Feedback from tests or installation trials is directly incorporated into the further design process.
4. Manufacture and deliver the sensor
Once technical approval has been granted, we will handle production and deliver the sensors on schedule to meet your mass-production needs.

Faster clarification
instead of searching through catalogs.
When a standard sensor isn’t a good fit, engineering and purchasing teams often waste time poring over data sheets, asking questions, and making compromises.
We’ll conduct a technical review of your application right away to determine which sensor solution is practical, feasible, and ready for mass production.

Standard sensor or custom solution?

Standard Solution Binsack Custom Sensor Solution
Rigid design with no customization options Customized design, connection types, material, and switching points
Limited customization Customization of design, connection, material, and switching point
Unclear series adjustment Prototyping, Testing, Approval, and Mass Production
Often multiple interfaces Direct technical contact at the manufacturer
Might be roughly right Checked for medium, installation space, and installation
If a standard solution is sufficient, we'll say so.
If a custom design makes sense, we'll engineer it to meet the technical requirements.

Development and manufacturing under one roof

Binsack supports OEMs with recurring needs, small- and medium-volume production runs, and custom variants.
In-house manufacturing, short lead times, and pre-shipment testing make projects easier to plan.

Our manufacturing capabilities
Assembly and Testing
Sensors and assemblies are installed and tested before shipment. This ensures consistent quality in mass production.
Mechanical processing
Mechanical adjustments can be integrated directly into the manufacturing process.
Cable Assembly
Connection cables, connectors, and cable lengths are designed to suit the specific application.
Coil winding technology
In-house coil winding expands the possibilities for specific reed relay solutions.
Tool manufacture
Custom tools enable the production of customer-specific components and modifications.
plastic injection molding
Plastic parts can be customized to suit specific applications, such as housings, floats, or assemblies.

Quality for Mass Production

A prototype must function properly. A mass-production solution must be consistently reproducible, testable, and available.
That is why we view custom sensor technology not merely as a single component, but as a mass-produced part with clear requirements for manufacturing, testing, and supply.
ISO 9001 Quality Management
Quality management in accordance with ISO 9001 lays the foundation for defined processes, consistent production, and reliable production quality.
