Frequently asked questions about floats
What is the difference between plastic and stainless steel floats?
Plastic floats are lighter and resistant to many chemicals - ideal for hygienic applications. Stainless steel floats, on the other hand, offer maximum temperature resistance and mechanical stability - for example in industrial applications.
How many switching points can a float detect?
Depending on the application, up to three separate switching points are possible. This allows differentiated level control - for example for minimum, maximum and intermediate values.
How is the float attached?
We offer various types of mounting: threaded connections, flanges, screw caps or canister mounts. The selection is based on your container type.
Which media can be measured with the floats?
Our floats cover a broad spectrum: Water, oil, fuels, chemicals - the choice of material is made in coordination with your medium.
How does the float work technically?
A reed switch is located inside the riser tube. The float contains a magnet that triggers the switch contactlessly when ascending or descending - maintenance-free, reliable and durable.
Can floats be retrofitted?
Yes, our products can often be mechanically and electrically integrated into existing systems. Also a flexible solution for conversions or system modernization.
